Danville Show Choir Competition
On Friday evening, the Crescendo ladies were able to capture 7th place in a very competitive field and performed much better than their first competition! The Dynamics tied their best ever finish at Danville placing second behind an excellent Mt. Zion group and redeeming some previous losses from our first time out to Johns Hill and Sullivan (who did not place in the top 4). Dylan Lowe won the Outstanding Male Soloist Award as well!
On Saturday, the HS show choirs competed in a very rigorous field as well that was loaded with groups that EPG has never beaten. The Hi Fidelity ladies took to the stage first and were able to place second behind Naperville North HS, but beat Chesterton from Indiana that we have never beaten before. Modulations got to perform as the last group of the day and managed to slip into finals for only the second time in EPG history and were selected to perform second that night. This allowed only about an hour and a half of recovery time and if you have seen their incredibly aerobic show, you would understand that this is not a lot! They were 5th place heading into finals and were able to gut out another excellent performance and battle their way into 4th in finals. We received two second place votes in finals though and 50% of the judges had us placed ahead of the 2nd and 3rd place groups, which is a very impressive feat. On the day, Modulations defeated Bishop Luers, Chesterton, Sullivan, Pekin, and Alan B. Shepard. The losses were to Glenwood (last year's national champions), Manteno, and Naperville North (3900 students). Congratulations Titans!
