Partnerships for College and Career Success
- Developed by a partnership of secondary and postsecondary schools and businesses, the programs lead to realed meaningful employment.
- Students begin as early as 9th grade and no later than the 11th grade to select a PCCS sequence of courses, and may revise their program of study at any time.
- The programs must include integrated academic and technical content, and workplace skills.
- At least two years of postsecondary education leading to an associate of applied science degree, or two years of an apprenticeship, are required for students to be PCCS completers.
- PCCS occupations require advanced technical skills, require multifaceted problem-solving and critical thinking skills, have above-average entry wages and career advancement, and have A.S. degrees, or apprenticeship completion as their predominant method of entering the occupation.
- PCCS students may articulate from a community college to a four year institution.
- Students have a written career plan that identifies a sequence of courses leading to a PCCS occupation as a career goal.
