COMPARED TO OTHERS--In 2009 the Board of Education directed the administrative team to give particular attention to the EPGHS curriculum and student performance. There has been strong improvement in this area since that directive. (click Here) We have also compiled data that includes results from the Heart of Illinois school districts. We believe it is a true measuring stick to compare EPG to these districts to show how our district is performing. If we are to be the destination district that we aspire to be in the Bloomington-Normal area in central Illinois, we must strive to compete in all areas, especially academics. This data was compiled from the IIRC website.

2011 State Assessment Comparison & Review of HOIC High Schools

• EPG PSAE scores were the highest they have been since EPG became a district.

• This is true of each PSAE subtest: reading, math, science, and writing.

• This is true of the PSAE composite score.

• No HOIC high school has seen greater improvements in % of students meeting and exceeding standards on the PSAE than has EPG.

• This has moved us from the middle of our conference (based on PSAE scores) to 5th based on PSAE composite.

• We are one of only a few schools who have shown growth in scores when comparing the past three years.
  

• EPG scores higher than many schools with less low income students in the HOIC.

• EPG is 8th in HOIC in % of low income students.

• EPG scores higher on the PSAE than 5 of the schools with a lower % of low income students.
