Welcome to our district website and I am pleased you are investigating EPG! Our staff continues to make strides toward fulfilling our Board of Education vision statement of Connecting, Creating and Committing to those things that we value. "Connecting" to our students, parents and community--"Creating" the best learning environments-- and "Committing" to student achievement.
Student achievement has benefited from efforts the past few years as our most recent test scores saw gains made across the board particularly at the high school. Specifically---our college readiness scores were the highest they have been since consolidation. The EPGHS scores have risen by 10 points in college readiness the past three years while the state average has remained flat over that time.
We recently concluded our public discussion with all our constituents on the long range master planning for our aging facilities. We have two buildings that are 100 years young with specific areas in each building that need addressed. Additonally, we simply need to close a building. Our public spoke loud and clear in the process as to the direction for Master Planning. We are not where we desire to be when compared to area schools but we continue to make that daily walk with students our priority. Our goal is simple--we want to be first class and pursuing first place. For three years we have talking about becoming a "Destination District" for folks relocating to the Bloomington/Normal area. We work toward that goal daily!
